Gunstock Ranch offers a selection of eco-tours that allow you to plant a tree in the Legacy Forest. During your tree planting and eco-tour, our knowledgeable guides will share the history of Hawaiian land and how your tree will contribute to healing the local ecosystem. You'll see wildlife, grazing cattle, and ocean views, and then personally plant the tree in a memorable ceremony. When you leave, you'll have made a measurable difference in the effort to create a sustainable future.
To participate in the eco-tours, you need to purchase a dedicated and trackable native tree that you want to plant, with each tree costing $120. Your payment goes directly to the non-profit Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative for the care and health of the forest. You can purchase additional trees if you like.
During the Private Off-Road Planter's Experience, you'll plant a native tree in the Legacy Forest and then go on a rugged off-road vehicle ride. You'll cruise down jungle paths and mountain trails, see wildlife, learn stories of the land, and maybe even try some local fruit if it's in season. At the top of the ranch, overlooking the ocean, you'll enjoy a local picnic lunch in a private and relaxing setting. This is a great time to soak up the sights and sounds and reflect on the positive legacy you've left behind by planting a native tree.
If you prefer a simpler but just as meaningful experience, you can choose the Planter's Experience. During this tour, you'll learn about the history of Hawaiian land and how planting a tree can contribute to healing the local ecosystem. You'll have the opportunity to personally plant a tree in a memorable ceremony and leave a positive impact on the environment.

Every Eco-Tour is private and is customizable to your experience!
