Annual Easter Egg Hunt – April 7, 2012

It’s that time of year again! If you have never joined us for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt… you don’t know what you are missing! This event is FREE and along with the egg hunt we include a free petting zoo and a free pony walk. The egg hunt starts at 10am SHARP! Don’t be late! You have never seen 6,000 eggs disappear so fast!

Here are a few tips:

• Arrive early! It takes time to park and by 9:30am there is a long line of cars waiting to get in. We start on time.
• Wear footwear maybe even shoes. We do our hunt in our rocky cow pastures … I don’t think I need to say much more
• Our pastures our divided by age groups.
• Share. Even though we hide 3,000 real eggs and 3,000 colored eggs they are all gone in a matter of minutes. We don’t regulate how many eggs a child can have. It is always fun to see the kindness of children as you see them share with other children that weren’t quite as lucky.
• Bring water, hats and a camera for pictures. Especially if you are staying for a pony walk. The lines can get long sometimes.

Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to help boil, dye, stuff and hide all those eggs . This is a FREE event for the community so if you would like to help out monetarily that is wonderful too. Please email if you want to help.

Mar. 3rd – 2nd Annual 5K Trail Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Run to Benefit Kahuku Elementary

Don’t miss Kahuku Elementary’s 5K Trail Run and 1 mile Family Fun Run at Gunstock Ranch. Enjoy running through our mountain trails. This race is open to anyone who wants to join in on the fun . If you register online at www.active.com by Feb. 17th the cost is only $15 for adults and $10 for children and it includes a Race T-shirt. Start time is 7:00 am. Feb. 20th – Team Sorting at Gunstock Ranch

Team Sorting is fun to watch whether you are participating or a spectator. Everyone is invited. Sorting begins at 10am. Registration starts at 9 and is $10. No cost if you are just watching.

 

 

Oct. 29th – High School Rodeo Halloween Fun Day

If you haven’t been to Halloween Fun Day and Costume Contest…. well you don’t know what you are missing. Last year was my first time seeing horses dressed up to match his/her rider. Talk about creativity! Even as a spectator it was fun.  This year, as a fundraiser for Oahu High School Rodeo, it will be bigger, better, and promises to be entertaining. There are 12 events to choose from including the Sit-a-Buck and the Mounted Egg Toss. There are even two events where you don’t need a horse so everyone can join in. Sign-in starts at 9am and events start at 10am.  This event is free and open to the public.  Come and join us even if you don’t enter.
